- 01We are a faith-based community farm in Lake City, Minnesota, inspired by the Catholic Worker tradition of hospitality, healthy food, meaningful work, care for the land, and service to others.Since 2007, we have been building a community centered around farming, hospitality, education, food, and relationships. We believe there is a better way to live—one that brings people closer to the land, to one another, and to the work of creating the common good.
- 02No. The Catholic Worker tradition is our inspiration, but you do not need to be Catholic—or even religious—to visit, participate in our programs, enjoy our food and beverages, or support our work.We welcome all people from many different backgrounds. What brings us together is a desire to build a more connected, compassionate, healthier, and sustainable community and world!
- 03The farm is designed to benefit many different people, the earth, and people who grow food.Families, children and students can learn where their food comes from and gain hands-on experience growing and harvesting food. People who are struggling can find hospitality, community, meaningful work, and a place to rest. Farmers are paid a fair wage for their products. Families and visitors can experience good food, nature, and community. And our wider community benefits from a place where people can come together and learn from one another. Our soil becomes healthier through restorative agriculture practices.
- 04No. Kombucha is one part of what we do—and an important part because it provides a way for people to discover the farm and for us to support ourselves—but our vision is much bigger. The farm brings together hospitality, education, agriculture, food, meaningful work, and community. The new building will allow these pieces to work together in ways that strengthen the whole community.
